COP 29 got a funny new draft finance text Friday morning in which the developed countries get their relatively lowball number of $250 billion a year now with the developing country’s $1.3 trillion a target for 2035. Everybody gets what they want, right? No they are hopping mad. See them hopping.

The Australian Government, having failed to pass censorship legislation by an extremely slim margin (first introduced by the fake conservative Liberal Party), is still determined to introduce social media age verification thus requiring all social media users to provide ID verification. Thus all your social media posts will be attached to your digital person ID.
They gave a 24 hour window for submissions, now passed.

The entire proposed Bill is a farce. A child can still access “You Choob” and visit Porn sites with this Bill. Holes galore in the whole thing and totally impractical.
And it is the start of the push for a Digital ID. With the ID to be held on a “secure” (lol) Guv’ment computer site easily hackable by the criminal computer experts.
“Safe and Effective” says the Guv’ment propaganda. Yeah, right.

Australia already has a digital ID law, quietly passed, supposedly “voluntary” now, presumably only used by the walking woke and other assorted Leftists who want Government in control of their lives. Of course, like experimental.vaccines, it will soon become compulsory.

Australia already uses the Medicare card as an Australia Card national ID.
I know this because my bank demanded I give my Medicare number, despite the bank having no relationship with health whatsoever and me being their customer with the exact same account for 30 years.
One thing I can tell you … is we ain’t in Kansas anymore.

I wonder how many will apply as Donald Duck, Daisy Duck, or as Mickey Mouse. The ambitious may apply as Charles Third or Donald Trump, maybe even as Albozo Clown, depending on exactly how inspirational they are.
Another ALP” mirage “ is about to evaporate. Please can we have an election & put the nation at ease once more!! Enough now!!

Australia has always had at best fair, but usually extremely bad Governments but the present federal Government, and most state Governments are by far the worst ever. They are what happens when the Left operate without restraint or any effective opposition and when the Government / Opposition Uniparty agree on virtually everything, including censorship, and the Official Narrative on covid and anthropogenic global warming.

Trekking in Nepal as I am now, it is amazing to see the number of older people in their late 60’s or 70’s doing so. My guide told me he even took an 82 year old to Everest Base Camp, about a 12 day walk. And these are not easy walks, they are typically one to two weeks or longer and require high levels of physical exertion 6 to 8 hours per day. Of course, if you need urgent medical care, it’s just not going to happen, but that applies to all age groups. In the more woke countries like Canada the Government would be urging people in those age groups to be euthanised so it’s good to see them here enjoying themselves.

As a keen hiker I wonder how they got insurance? When I reached the age of 75 I discovered that British companies that used to insure my trips quite happily would not only give me quotations with premiums that went through the roof compared with the previous year (despite the fact that I have only once in my life made an insurance claim and that was over 30 years ago) but their conditions had become much more onerous. One company that provided me with insurance the year before that covered me up to an altitude of 7,000 metres would only cover me for treks up to 2,500 metres. I suspect I could get insurance through some mountaineering societies but that would probably be extremely expensive.
80
I bet that the local Nepalese don’t use Insurance.
60
If you don’t have insurance or the proven financial backing to pay then urgent medical evacuation would be impossible. The place would be littered with corpses

” The place would be littered with corpses”
…and the problem is?? Do you want to die drooling in an old age home watching TV or do you want to die doing what you love? Your last view the wall at the hospital where you are alone, or the Himalayas from 15000ft as climbers walk past you and say “Good luck”?

European Leaders Determine to Destroy Europe – There goes the Euro
The skies are darkening over Europe’s economy and politics, all thanks to their determination to wage war against Russia. The euro is plummeting to its lowest level in two years. Will the Euro stop at 85 cents in the year ahead? European leaders know that the Eurozone is crumbling, and instead of reform, they have chosen war and to use that as the excuse for the collapse of the Euro in the years ahead. In Putin’s address to the Russian people, he stated that
“Russian military facilities in the Bryansk and Kursk regions were attacked by Western missiles.” According to him, “the conflict in Ukraine has taken on global elements.”
The European press is either stupid or is cheering war on as aversion to the collapse of Europe from the nonsense of climate change & Wokeness that infected Europe as well. But the number one rule is never to admit a mistake – point the finger at someone else.
Any press that refers to Putin as a “dictator” instantly knows this is being fed by the NEOCON propaganda machine. They will not tell the truth that Putin was elected and the people supported him BECAUSE the alternative is a Russian NEOCON and a return to the USSR. Ursula von der Leyen is the dictator, for she did not stand for election and was part of the World Economic Forum voted in only by political heads of state that are all preaching the same agenda – WAR – WAR -WAR.

1913
Why do you continue to use this source?
Europe has no desire whatsoever to go to war with Russia. A member of the European family was invaded by Putin despite their 1994 agreement whereby their sovereignty and borders were guaranteed and as a result Ukraine’s Nukes decomissioned.
The conflict in Ukraine took on “global” elements last year when Iran and North Korea supplied Putin with Drones and artillery and North Korea has now supplied 10000 troops actually now fighting in Ukraine.
Europe has put no troops into Ukraine and permission to use Western Weapons into Russia only given when it was clear that Putin was bringing in material from his allies.
As a Brit I have no liking for the EU or Von Der Leyen but the Russian Bear has been hungry for some time and they have been the belligerent party for decades as witness the cold war and their rule over Eastern Europe (still very vivid), Georgia, Crimea and recent events.. Incidentally Von der Leyen was elected by the European Parliament in as meaningful a way as Putin was.
1026
What is your view towards NATO expansion?
My understanding is the Russians pulled out of Eastern Europe in the early 90’s following an agreement that NATO would not expand into the vacuum.
Cold War victory over Soviet communism.
That’s the story I was told in school.
What I have I missed?
270
Countries voluntarily decide to join Nato and have to be approved by existing members. Watching Ukraine unfold, If I were the leaders of Sweden and Finland I would want to join NATO. Russia did not voluntarily “pull out” . Their economy collapsed, troops didn’t get paid and their ability to threaten those countries under them disappeared.
In the early 1990’s Russia guaranteed Ukraine’s sovereignty and independence and amongst others the UK and US were party to the agreement and have an international treaty obligation to maintain this independence. As a result of this, Ukraine ceased to be a nuclear power. If it were still such a power Russia would not have invaded. So it was Russia that broke the treaty.
Surely we have learnt not to appease aggressors? History from the Danegeld to Hitl*r surely tells us that. Look at a Map. Russia has enabled nuclear capable missiles in Kaliningrad. That vulnerable corridor is being reinforced as Poland and the Baltic States feel threatened.
If you remember just days before the invasion-planned for 18 months- Putin insisted he had no intention of invading.
1119
That is a very flawed logic.
The agreement was for no expansion of NATO, NATO has done nothing but expand.
There are no volunteers if by agreement you can’t take volunteers, that’s the agreement! The members of NATO are to ensure the agreements is not broken by any party.
With the expansion of NATO came weapons and troops onto previously neutral borders, some may view it a military buildup of armed forces.
All Ukraine had to do to prevent war was stop killing its own people, not a big ask. When did killing people because they didn’t vote for you become a capital crime.
NATO, let’s call them that, not the USA, have placed missiles all over Europe, I don’t think they are pointed at me, you may yet get to die for your cause.
Very woke, always playing the hitler card, why not Stalin, Chairman Mao or our modern version, Stairman Dan, the world stood by and did nothing. Should have just gone with anti-semite.
P.S Conjob Armstrong is as valid a source as your Guardian.
52
Neutral in what sense? After being ruled by the USSR for so long these countries were very eager to get protection from the big bear that had been mauling them for so long and had built up their own forces and relied on allies.
I think the Guardian is mostly complete nonsense

I’m just glad we vanquished those nasty Stalin communists, but were able to make friendly business arrangements with those much nicer Mao communists.
I’m for culture unification and absorption, Canada, OZ, and the EU have almost completed emulation of Maoist cultural reformation, and soon we can make everyone think right and those nasty Russians will be set free to join the non-binary anti-racist march to Utopia and stopping Climate Change with Net Zero (except for China because of their inequitable development) .
30
I did not include the UK in my list, because Uber PM Keir Starmer has already dragged the formerly British people across the cultural absorption finish line, except for those reluctants he has jailed, where the cultural absorption will eliminate them.
People shouldn’t have dogs anyway.

A surprising good read, this caught my eye.
‘Bush refused to meet with pro-independence leaders in Ukraine. As his motorcade passed through Kyiv, it was greeted by large numbers of people waving Ukrainian and American flags but also protesters bearing slogans such as “Mr. Bush: billions for the USSR is slavery for Ukraine” and “The White House deals with Communists but snubs Rukh”, the principal pro-independence party in Ukraine.’
12
“A member of the European family was invaded by Putin”
should read
“A member of the European family was overthrown in a western lead coup in 2014”
“The conflict in Ukraine took on “global” elements last year when Iran and North Korea supplied Putin with Drones and artillery”
should read
“The conflict in Ukraine took on “global” elements years ago when when NATO began supplying Zelenski with tanks, HIMARS MLRS, ATACMS. 155mm artillery, switchblade drones, Javelin missiles, Storm Shadow missiles, SCALP missiles, APC’s, former Warsaw pact aircraft, F-16’s, Satellite intelligence etc etc”
“North Korea has now supplied 10000 troops actually now fighting in Ukraine”
should read
“Nobody has shown any evidence that North Korea has now supplied 10000 troops that are actually now fighting in Ukraine”
“Europe has put no troops into Ukraine and permission to use Western Weapons into Russia only given when it was clear that Putin was bringing in material from his allies”
should read
“Europe and USA have always had de facto troops (rebadged as mercenaries) in Ukraine as only they know how to fire advanced Western Weapons into Russia”
“Incidentally Von der Leyen was elected by the European Parliament in as meaningful a way as Putin was.”
No, Putin is much more popular.
316
The Maidan revolution occurred because the then leader reversed a democratic decision to join the Eu and instead tilted towards Russia. Russia had amassed sufficient troops for an invasion in 2014 very soon after those events which were in position before the revolution took place. They don’t just turn up in a few minutes. it takes 18 months of planning as we saw in Ukraine itself.
Putin rules by fear. Who on earth would dare oppose him? Those that do end up in Gulags or fall over balconies as we saw with the opposition leader who returned to Russia and was convicted on nonsensical charges and died a few months ago. I have no love for the EU but their President isn’t elected through fear and intimidation.
.
Russia has from the start been using weaponry supplied by other nations.
Are you seriously saying these North Korean troops are imaginary? They were sent as part of a mutual assistance treaty signed in October and acknowledged as such by Putin at the end of that month..
Ukraine troops have undoubtedly been trained in the West (some near us) they were shown how to use hi tech weapons. There are no remotely significant number of Nato troops in Ukraine defacto or otherwise. Putin would have highlighted them if they had been defacto troops but has only managed to capture or kill a few foreign mercenaries.
820
I’m with tonyb on this. After the breakup of the Soviet Union, deals were done between Russia and Ukraine which delivered Soviet assets, such as a navy, to Russia. They also formally agreed borders and non-aggression. Vladimir Putin’s Russia reneged on those agreements when it invaded Ukraine.

Ukraine has 3 fulltime Professional soccer leagues, comprised of 54 teams/clubs. The 2024/25 season is well underway with 12-14 rounds played.
The Ukraine National Soccer Team is involved in the UEFA Nations League 2024/25 season. Ukraine plays its Home Games at the Olimpiyskiy Stadium in Kyiv.
In 2024 Ukraine continues to be one of the worlds leading producers and exporters of grain products.
There are now more bars and restaurants in Kyiv than before the conflict began…
10
You are correct, Jock.
Ukraine is two countries – one is dying in the trenches, another – trying to survive by any means, noble or ignoble.
But have you seen high life streets of Moscow and St. Petersburg? My old woman could not be torn off Youtube… and you can see village streets 100 miles away from the capitals.
On Youtube you can also see https://youtu.be/jP3hx-DyWXM.
What about two Sydneys? Not as bad of course.
By the way, a genuine question : Zelensky’s kids must about conscription age – is any involved in this war?
I swear I have not tried to look myself.
20
“By the way, a genuine question : Zelensky’s kids must about conscription age – is any involved in this war?”
Haha! Very funny Vlad! He’s a politician, and no politician’s kids go to any war, anywhere in the world! The USSR was just a version of white-faced Asians, the place ran on corruption and it was quite accepted, so no kids with parents of any sway would get to be conscripted. Imagine China/SE Asia without corruption, the place wouldn’t run! On a lesser scale, don’t expect to see Hunter Biden or any of Albosleazy’s progeny in uniform either!
I long for a return of the days when the head of the country led the troops to war and was at the front of every battle. I suppose if the upcoming WW3 collapses civilisation back to horses and city-states, my wish will come true!
00
The conflict in Ukraine is far from straightforward. The communities east of the Dneiper River are Russian speakers and Russia has claimed that they not only have historically been part of Russia, but that the population largely wants to be part of Russia.
I have always believed that the United Nations should have supervised elections on the question. Many years ago Australia was enlisted by the UN to supervise fair elections in Cambodia and the UN successfully intervened when Yugoslavia descended into division after the death of Tito.
91
Fair comment. But the elections needed to be held before Russian forces moved in and “insisted” the inhabitants voted correctly. We have a number of refugees round here who were intimidated into voting to join Russia.

tony:
Not sure if I have the right reference. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JrMiSQAGOS4&t=9s
John Mearsheimer did a youtube which included a map of Ukraine and voters choice (for I think the 2010 election). Very interesting as those voting for the Russian-leading (and elected) candidate showed a majority in the east of Ukraine and a heavy majority in Crimea, but also in regions to the west (where various bits had been donated by Stalin after WW2).
Mearsheimer pointed out that the current policies by the West would result in war.
80
Thanks for your sober words, Tony. The case can not be more clear – a mad monster is hellbent on reversing the history and subduing half of Europe to his personal rule. He already rules over a quarter of Earth land but his bloodlust is stronger than his love of his own children. What was the need for killing hundreds of thousands people when he already had them in his fist culturally and economically? My family, all my neighbours spoke Russian and, if asked before the war, might have preferred Russian passports. Not anymore.
Why would otherwise clever and educated people here listen to ritters and mearsheimers when today with minimum effort you can hear what Putin says himself?
By the way, some of it is so factually wrong I wonder if he attended the same state school which I and other millions went through?
On the other side Ukraine was not so good and pure example of new Nation but it had a chance to be. Still has.
78
Thank you Vladimir. 6 million refugees have fled Ukraine in terror. 5 million have been displaced in their own country.
40000 civilians have been injured, some 12000 killed and another 10000 have life changing industries. Bombing has often been indiscriminate including schools hospitals and shopping centres.. Some 100 ,000 Ukrainian soldiers have been killed.
Putin kills dissenters which is why we see so few of them.
Putin has said he wants to recreate the empire and has clear designs on Poland and the Baltic states as well as Ukraine.
He needs to be stopped. Why so many here like to red thumb any condemnation of him I do not know.
77
living just about as far as you can get from any killing war I have nevertheless had my son in law’s brother, an Iraqi policemen, murdered a few months ago. But for Ukraine’s war my thinking is on the side of tonyb and Vladimir.
So, where did all those red thumbs come from?
01
“Europe has no desire whatsoever to go to war with Russia. ”
They just do what they are told to by America. Straight after WW2 Britain and America started planning on how to destroy Russia, the only other power in the world. Luckily Capitalism out-performs Communism every time, but even when the USSR broke up the West couldn’t stop themselves from trying to break Russia.
We will see if Trump is still alive when it is time to take power, and how effective he is at breaking up the military/intelligence complex. That will be the only chance for world peace. Russia doesn’t have 800 military bases all over the world and troops stationed in the UK and Australia. Britain and Australia will find out what the troops are really for the moment they go against America.
Ukraine has never been more than a weapon to deploy against Russia and a money-laundering scheme for the Bidens.
113
Donald may bring back all the people at those overseas bases, withdraw from AUKUS and NATO, on the basis that the US doesn’t want to be the world’s policeman.
Australia could cancel those subs we ordered, as peace and harmony breaks out in the South Pacific.
‘Ukraine has never been more than a weapon to deploy against Russia and a money-laundering scheme for the Bidens.’
That is disinformation.
33
‘ … after WW2 Britain and America started planning on how to destroy Russia …’
That is illogical, Stalin was all fired up and ready to take on the capitalist West. You might be too young to remember the Communist invasion of Hungry and the cold war.
32
When I see a leader anywhere, don a uniform and take up a weapon then I will know he/she is someone to follow rather than someone to protect. The current globalist class happily send the kids of conservatives off to die on a distant battlefield but their own kids stay home with mummy. At least when a Roman Consul decided to attack an enemy he first bought a nice set of armour, a good horse (except Sulla who always rode a mule) and then led his legions to glory or destruction. At times the Roman Senate could not raise a quorum because the Senators were off fighting a war somewhere. When leaders lead there will be far few wars.
30
Could not wait any longer and checked myself where are Zelensky’s kids at the moment. Do not know more now than did in the morning.
Anyway, his only son Cyril is 11 years old. His only daughter Alexandra is about 21, so maybe she does something for the war effort.
00
‘ … all thanks to their determination to wage war against Russia.’
Objection, speculation, in fact history will show that Russia dragged Europe into hostilities. Putin is a megalomaniac with imperialistic ambition, harking back to a forgotten age which has no place in the modern era.

Not living in the US and being basically ignorant of the personnel details, we can only hope what you say has some truth to it and is not just wishful thinking, as so much has been and still is.
US Attorney General is a really critical position as we have seen during Donald J’s first term. In my experience, a position of such power just cannot be filled with full trust in the appointee. The DoJ, the FBI and the CIA will find a zillion ways to destroy any transparency.
As a corollary, I doubt Trump’s nominations will all be appointed smoothly, if any are. Too many wanna-be’s, too many vengeful characters, too many hidden money pathways. There was an explanation I read recently about Presidential appointments through some “Recess mechanism” (apparently held out as a way to avoid the Medusa). That explanation ran to 4 or so pages of absolute gobbledegook … not a hope.
Of course this viewpoint is depressing, but that is because of the relationship of human characteristics to powerlust. “I want to make a difference”, so the spiel goes, but never are we told the details of the desired difference.
30

Watching all the attention on this stuff in various Aussie ‘channels’, I wonder how many Australians realise that we don’t actually have this process in Australia – the politicians just have to work with the civil servants they find in place. (Attorney General is an MP)
I also wonder how many Australians notice the depth of the US ballot forms – you vote for local officials – county Treasurer, Education Board etc etc – the forms are huge!
00
I find myself having to point this out almost every day recently. Our governments and media are, in my opinion, deliberately hiding or minimising a serious, continuing problem for western nations. They do this through the use of the term ‘net migration’.
Today, we are expected to celebrate Sweden’s efforts to control immigration, because they have announced their ‘net migration’ is currently down to zero.
But beware the term ‘net migration’, which can be used to hide a serious change in demographics. Put simply, it is the total number of immigrants arriving, minus the number of emigrants leaving. In Sweden’s case, at this time, they cancel out. However, where is the analysis of exactly WHO is entering and WHO is leaving? Zero net migration could mean that twenty thousand native, Christian, highly educated and economically mobile Swedes left, while twenty thousand Muslims from Africa and the Middle East arrived, with no money, no education and only low level skills. The ‘net’ effect of this on Swedish society could be catastrophic.

Here is the latest video from Dr John Campbell talking about a peer reviewed paper of three case reports of people with advanced cancers using the veterinary anti-parastitic drug (also used in humans under a different name) Fenbenzadole and apparently being cured.
Because the drug is cheap, apparently effective and presumably out of patent (or nearly so) there is little to no chance of it being approved in the Left/Big Pharma coalition countries like Australia but I think there is a good chance it will be approved for further investigation under TRUMP/RFK.

I had thought to reflect on the power of the US Constitution still today, some 235 years after its ratification..
Specifically, I was thinking of the First Amendment after Trump has set about to uphold its element of free speech so completely.
Trump speaks freely. He offers absolutes where there is sometimes a degree of uncertainty. In my view, that is good leadership. For example, can he stop the Ukraine war in 24 hours. Maybe not but look at how the globalists are trying to escalate the war before Trump gets into office so it reduces his chance of sorting it in 24 hours.
The UN treaty on human rights does cover freedom and expression:
Australia is party to this treaty so anyone banning an individual from a platform is in breach of a fundamental human right.
A few of us here could probably build a case against renew economy, and many LSM platforms.

The Person who the Labor Party, Penny Wong & Albosleezy support
A judge accused of sexual harassment rushes an outrageous war crime case against Israel
By Douglas Murray
Should the prime minister of a democratically-elected ally of the United States be allowed to visit Washington? Until now the answer was obvious. Not anymore.
Some people pointed out that the ICC had never previously dared to pursue the head of a democracy. Others rightly noted that the charges were based on exactly zero evidence and no on-the-ground research.
Others of us who have actually seen the recent conflict with our own eyes pointed out that the charges against Israel are false, libelous, outrageous and entirely without merit.
And then people started to notice that Karim Khan, the British Muslim “judge” seeking to bring the arrest warrants, seemed to have got a little bit too excited a little bit too early. Over recent weeks we started to get a good idea about why.
Khan himself turned out to be at the center of a sex-pest complaint by a former colleague at the ICC. The woman in question had lodged internal complaints about his lewd behavior.
It must run in the family, because as it happens Khan’s brother was recently sent to prison in the UK for sexually assaulting a child.
As multiple papers around the world have reported, Khan apparently made completely inappropriate sexual demands of a female colleague on multiple occasions.
When she complained he threatened to ruin her career. I don’t know where the “MeToo” crowd were over that. But they seem to have been remarkably quiet.

ALP loses perspective and principle on terrorist war
The Australian EDITORIAL
Foreign Minister Penny Wong’s response to the International Criminal Court issuing an arrest warrant for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former defence minister Yoav Gallant smacks of rank disloyalty to a long-time ally.
Or is it a sign of an underlying anti-Israeli mindset?
It is unacceptable either way.
Instead of deafening silence, Anthony Albanese must assert authority and correct Australia’s position on the ICC’s contemptible anti-Semitic action.
Senator Wong’s first reaction was a meaningless platitude, saying Australia respected the ICC’s independence. And in a comment beyond credulity she said we were “focused on working with countries that want peace to press for an urgently needed ceasefire”.
No nationality in the Middle East wants peace more than Israelis, who have been fighting for survival against Iran and its terrorist proxies since October 7 last year. That includes 80,000 people in the north who have faced 10,000 Hezbollah rockets and been forced from their homes.
The ICC and Senator Wong are overlooking the right of any nation to self-defence.
Senator Wong’s response compounds damage to the Australia-Israel relationship caused by the government’s shameful denial of a visa to outspoken former Israeli interior and justice minister Ayelet Shaked on character grounds.

Australia is refusing to join the US and Israel in rejecting the International Criminal Court’s decision to issue an arrest warrant for Israel’s leader Benjamin Netanyahu.
CAMERON STEWART, SARAH ISON and RHIANNON DOWN
The court’s unprecedented move against the leader of a democratic state means the court’s 124 member nations, including Australia, are obliged to arrest the Israeli leader if he visits.
Labor frontbencher Ed Husic on Friday declared the ICC was “doing its job” and suggested that the nation should not waver from global law.
However, in a comment that suggested the government would uphold the warrant, the spokeswoman continued “as a point of principle, Australia acts in a manner consistent with our international legal obligations”.
While US President Joe Biden denounced the ICC decision soon after it was released, Anthony Albanese declined to make a direct comment on Friday.

I don’t see any reason for him to visit Australia, so I don’t see why we would care to comment. If he jumps on a plane to Oz, decision time then I guess

I know I will be kicked from here to Damascus but Israelis will look after themselves.
Now, how many years must pass before people who killed 38 innocent Australians are brought to justice ?
I will give you a hint – never, if Hague Court survives this current troubles.

The ICC has warrants out for Vlad Putin, war crimes of course, but I hear he is flying off to India in a few weeks. Nobody to arrest him there.

The ICC’s Assault on Israel—and the U.S.
With its arrest warrants for Netanyahu and Gallant, the International Criminal Court sacrifices its standards and future to join the war on Israel.
By The WSJ Editorial Board
The International Criminal Court in The Hague issued arrest warrants Thursday for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his former defense chief, and this legal assault isn’t only against Israel. The precedent will harm the ability of all democracies to defend themselves against terror groups or states.
The White House came out against the ICC’s decision, but it might have been able to prevent it. The Republican House passed a bipartisan bill in June to sanction the ICC. Chuck Schumer, on directions from the President, has held up sanctions in the Senate for nearly six months. This is the same Sen. Schumer who loves to tell J@wish audiences that he’s their shomer, or guardian, in Congress.
On Israel, the ICC has twisted the law and the facts.
It has ignored the cloud over the court’s prosecutor, who is under investigation for possible sexual harassment, and who changed the course of his Israel investigation days after learning about the allegations threatening his career.
No problem, said the court.
First, the law:
The ICC only has jurisdiction over its member states, but Israel isn’t a member and Gaza isn’t a state.
The court nonetheless conjures a State of Palestine. …

Fossil fuels are coal comfort for the energy illiterate
There is more than a casual link between widespread, affordable electricity and the increase in life expectancy.
Chris Uhlmann
Most sitting days a small band of activists gathers outside federal parliament, around an array of hydrocarbon-rich signs, demanding an immediate end to all fossil fuel.
One of their number identifies as a marsupial, kitted out in an ill-fitting polyester suit made from petrochemicals. She/he/it and the other millenarians congregate on a path, made with cement sourced from a coal or gas-fired kiln, as they urge passers-by to repent their carbon addiction or face oblivion.
One ominous black sign warns: Coal Kills Kids.
Let’s check how the kids were doing in BC: the era before coal.
The Australian Bureau of Statistics records that in 1900 there were 103 deaths in every 1000 live births.
A century later that number had dropped to a tick over five per 1000.
The Australian Institute of Health and Welfare reports that children born in 2022 can expect to live around 30 years longer than those in 1891.
There is more than a casual link between widespread, affordable electricity and the increase in life expectancy.
As noted here before, a paper in the American Journal of Public Health records that “nearly 99 per cent of pharmaceutical feedstocks and reagents are derived from petrochemicals”.

I did find one apparent quirk in their article:
That appears to be a simulation result being described as “observational evidence”. Oh dear.

Six months since he came to office, the honeymoon is over.
‘Taiwanese leader William Lai Ching-te’s popularity has slid to a new low, weighed down by a wave of social discontent and political turmoil that has amplified public dissatisfaction with his administration.
‘Lai’s approval rating dropped to 42.8 per cent this month, well down from the 58 per cent recorded in May when he assumed office, according to a survey released on Tuesday by the Taiwanese Public Opinion Foundation, a Taipei-based pollster.’ (SCMP)

I’m hearing more and more reports of serious social unrest in China, mostly due to what could be a significant economic downturn. As usual, it’s very hard to gauge the truth of these stories due to the secrecy imposed by the CCP.
Among these stories of unrest, there are two that stand out for me. The first concerns an apparent spate of ‘vehicular terrorism’ attacks, where a person has driven their car into a crowd at high speed. One such attack a week or so ago killed many people, perhaps close to eighty. Another killed many young children and their parents outside a “primary school”. I find it odd that these people, apparently unconnected in any way, decide to kill ordinary citizens rather than government officers or police, the sort of targets one might expect if the motive was anger or desperation after losing their job and house.
The other important story, for me, is one that alleges a recent protest by citizens who have paid for new homes only to be let down by the developer. They refused to continue making advance payments AND demanded their money back. Protests like this have been relatively common since the rapid slowdown in the property market, as evidenced by the Evergrande collapse of course. But this one is very different. Whereas the poor plebs losing their money usually get short shrift and no help from the government, this time it was a large group of very wealthy Chinese, in Shanghai. That fact changes things. The ‘very wealthy’ in China are usually well-connected in local and federal government, not the sort of people the CCP usually ignores. There is obviously scope there for unrest ‘in the ranks’ so to speak, including within the party itself, something Xi might find worrying. It also lends credence to those who say China is going downhill fast, economically and socially, if it’s now hitting those near the top of the food chain.
I still maintain though that, if domestic unrest starts to pick up momentum, the people to suffer will be the Taiwanese, because Xi will mount a distraction and fan the flames of Chinese nationalism with a ‘just war’.
Australia is a sitting duck should that happen, not necessarily militarily (though I wouldn’t count that out) but most definitely economically. We are way too dependent on China, thanks to our lazy, greedy governments. Even if war doesn’t happen, a major recession in China would hit us hard.
70
Digging deeper, it seems that Xi is in fact targeting wealthy Chinese with ever-growing ‘tax’ demands. However, those being targeted are selected not just on their wealth, but on their status in terms of ‘who they know’ and what political power they possess. The lowest/weakest tier are effectively threatened and imprisoned if they refuse to pay. There are nine tiers and as the person rises higher they are considered more powerful and loyal to Xi. At the highest level, they are ‘asked’ for donations and given years to come up with the money. Others on tier two and three receive ‘requests’ for help, so that the government can use the money for social programmes and to help the government operate.
Even Chinese living overseas are receiving these demands, especially those with family still in China.
I can’t see how this could possibly end well. China appears to be moving closer and closer toward a fascist dictatorship.
30
After extensive Covid lockdowns a lot of foreigners began to leave, simultaneously there was a collapse of the property market.
People are sleeping on the street, it feels like New York, they are hungry and cold, sleeping rough. China is drifting into economic depression and only Donald the great has the potential to save Xi or hasten his end.
22
‘ … if domestic unrest starts to pick up momentum …’
Xi is in big trouble, those workers who haven’t been paid in six months are threatening to go on strike..
The lying down flat uprising is spreading fast, but there are also many angry people gathering in groups protesting the lack of justice and fairness. Xi told the disgruntled to go back to your village and breathe in the Communist spirit.

We had our annual car club bbq today. A bit hot but it all went well. Is was listening to a couple members bragging about their Covid injections. One had 7 , and the other had 9.
Nine, I couldnt beleive it. Those are the sort of numbers I only joke about “queuing up for their 9th injection” style. Then there is reality, and people out their just gagging to get their next one.
Ah, diversity

How’s their car maintenance?

7 boy is pretty good , quite talented. Rebuilt his own car after a roo strike and can make/alter parts for you on a lathe
9 boy is an ex State public servant.

Hey Yarpos, it sounds like we probably know the same people. One of the seven shot brigade recently came down with the dreaded covid and immediately went on to the anti viral regime. Still not feeling 100% but tells me how much worse it would have been without the “medication”. Doesn’t believe me when I tell him I had covid got over it in 3 days and haven’t had it since.

https://trusttheevidence.substack.com/p/vaccine-damage-payments If TTE’s information is accurate, the government spends more on reviewing cases than the claims themselves. For instance, 188 claims at £120,000 each cost £22.6 million, which is £2.5 million less than the cost of reviewing and rejecting the vaccine damage payment claims.
